Company History

Senator Promotional Group USA, Inc. was formed in 2008 after Germany-based Senator Worldwide (Senator GmbH & Co. KGaA) purchased Dart Business Accessories, located in Dallas, Texas.

Dart Business Accessories, an award-winning industry leader, was founded in 1965 by Sam and Irene Kogutt.  Sam’s passion for fishing led him to start manufacturing leather and vinyl fishing accessories.  Dart soon begin producing leather and vinyl business accessories, leading the company’s entrance into the promotional products industry.

Senator Worldwide, home of Senator Pen, has been manufacturing and supplying pencils, pens, and specialty writing instruments since 1920 and has world-wide presence in more than 100 countries.  A leader in manufacturing technology, Senator creates nearly all of its top-of-the-line writing instruments in its factory in Groß-Bieberau, Germany.

Senator GmbH & Co. KGaA is owned by Merz Pharmaceuticals, an independent and family-owned German pharmaceutical company.
